On Sunday, February 11th a large crowd of community members, including many Chester County Liberation Center volunteers, and dozens from Coatesville’s Masjid Ar-Rahman mosque, including their Imam, Brother Mohammed Jamal, gathered in Coatesville to demand an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Palestine.
The crowd was loud and enraged. Speaker after speaker spoke of their outrage and disgust at Joe Biden’s unyielding financial support of Israel, despite the 30,000 people they have killed since October 7th.
The people clearly came out to tell Biden and those using our tax dollars to fund genocide, “Not in our name!”
Many speakers spoke of how even local politicians continue to take campaign contributions from weapons manufacturers, even after Israel completely disregarded the ICJ’s preliminary ruling requiring the settler-state to cease all actions causing genocide, including the bombing of civilians and hospitals, and blocking the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza.
The crowd came together and committed themselves to not turning their backs on the Palestinians in Gaza suffering an increasingly brutal campaign of ethnic cleaning.
So disgusted with the political establishment’s unwillingness to take seriously the people’s demands, including a permanent and immediate ceasefire, many speakers spoke of the need for a third party candidate for President of the U.S.
The crowd responded with applause to the announcement that Chester County Liberation Center volunteers are joining organizers from across the state to collect the signatures needed to get the “End Capitalism Before it Ends Us” Karina and Claudia campaign (the Party for Socialism and Liberation‘s ticket), a pro-ceasefire/anti-occupation campaign, on the ballot in PA. The invitation to join this socialist campaign is open to all the people.
Join us in this and other campaigns every Saturday and Sunday at the Liberation Center in Coatesville or during our scheduled events and study sessions, or fill out the contact info below to get involved and be on the right side of history.
